Part 1: Nail Art Lesson!

Finally… a new module!!!! Advancing into NA1! These are my art works after 6 hours last Saturday… What’s missing is the zebra and leopard print ones which I’ve forgotten to take pictures of!

Omg and another assignment to complete for this module as well! Luckily it isn’t too difficult; just 10 tips with nail art :D

I really liked how my checkered, cherries and ribbon design looked but I’m going to redo them for my assignment!

Oh… a demoralising thing happened the following morning! I bought 5 new Angel Pro gel polishes from my school and kept them in my bag when I got home. In the middle of the night, my bag dropped from the table (guess it was too heavy!) and one of my favourite pinks that I got broke…

Ah, I do remember my bag dropping during the night but I was too tired to care! I wish I did though, then I could possibly save that bottle by pouring the remains into another bottle. But it was too late in the morning when I found out! Only about 10% was left in the bottle, the rest got into the box in came with and smeared my other polishes too! >;:(

Photobucket

Guess I need to be careful next time :/ Another good reason to buy more polishes ^^

Vintage Wallpaper

I actually did Gelish for Huiyi but my UV lamp broke down after I did 2 coats for her nails so I had to remove everything for her and use a normal polish! I still feel so apologetic to her because she didn’t get what she originally wanted for CNY! :(

Photobucket

She spotted this old nail art wheel of mine and she wanted the floral art that I’ve done for many times with white stripes at the background. I used OPI Rumple’s Wiggin’ as the base colour with Relvon Red and China Glaze White Out for the flowers, OPI Jade Is The New Black for the leaves! Did the accent nails on her ring and thumb!

Gelish: Abstract Accent Floral with Crystals

Did a house call for my boyfriend’s relatives last Friday night (Omg, sorry backtrack time!) and it was kinda fun! Did three people’s hands and feet and my back was aching the entire time because I was sitting on a stool and their coffee table was quite low, lol.

I didn’t take pictures of my bf’s aunts’ nails because they only did one colour; without any designs. One of them also did gelish and she chose Harmony Gelish Make A Difference; a really gorgeous dark pink I would say!

**sorry for the bad quality of photos; these are taken with my iPhone 4! Colours looked super washed out :(
Photobucket

However, this post is going to be about my bf’s mum’s nails :) She allowed me to do whatever I wanted, as long as there’s floral nail art! I suggested using accent floral nail art with a different colour in the same spectrum. So we ended up using colours from the breast awareness set again! I used Harmony Gelish Take Action and Harmony Gelish Less Talk as bases and added Swarovski crystals of different sizes in ss10 and ss5 on each nail except the floral accent nails.

Her middle finger nail on her right hand broke and she was pretty upset about it because it doesn’t look complete with one short stubby nail!

Hehe next post will be on my last week’s gelish manicure~~ :)

When Classic Meets Techno Nail Design

Hey guys!!! So I dug my old digital camera out and finally decided to put it to good use! My family abandoned that camera years ago because we got a DSLR. Because I’m such a noob, I’m still not familiar with the functions and this is the main reason why I’ve not used it for any of my nail swatches yet. The digital camera that I’ll be using from today onwards will be Panasonic DMC-FX10. It’s actually a really old model and it has only about 7 megapixels (I think). At least that is better than my current iPhone 4 that I’ve been using from the start to take pics of my nails. Amazing, isn’t it?

Anyway, let me know if this camera has an improvement to my swatches because if not, I will switch back to using my iPhone 4, lol. I like this digital camera much better because it can zoom in w/o making my pics blurry. But, it doesn’t really have that ‘bright’ factor that I always have in my swatches.

Okay…. back to nails. You should have noticed the weird title of this nail design and yes, I AM NOT THAT CREATIVE in naming all my nail designs :P It gets harder and harder after every nail art post, trust me! I am inspired by ClaraH and here’s my rendition of it. :) I’m definitely going to redo this and this time without the accent glitter nails. Also, I think the leaves of my roses are so awkward!! I should have drawn a pair for a rose.

Photobucket

I am using Dior Blue Label as a base for my accent nails, topped with Barry M Blue Glitter. OMG… Barry M Blue Glitter is so densely packed, it is more of a turquoise fine glitter in a clear base! I did a blue base underneath because I thought most glitter will be sparse and randomly spread out but this one is such a beautiful exception. LOVE! <3

The base colour on my other nails is Barry M Strawberry Ice-cream, I apologise for the colour difference because no matter how I photograph it, the colour doesn’t show up! :/ It is actually a bubblegum pink.

Roses are drawn with acrylic paint. Other colours used will be listed under the tags section.

Polka Dot with Swirling Roses Nail Design

Hey all! I promised a nail art post so here it is ;) the sun was scorching hot this afternoon when I woke up so hence the super bright pics! ^^

Photobucket

I’m not a very original person so I can’t help it by doing another rose design! I did it by using a different technique and I have to say that it didn’t turn out well. :/ it doesn’t even look like roses anymore, just spots of blobby mess! I definitely need to find a super sharp and thin pointer that I can use for the swirling. My smallest dotting tool was still too big for this.

Polishes that I used are listed at the end of the post under tags. I used acrylic paint with the roses.

Photobucket

I think my right hand turned out better than my left!! The roses looked more proportionate lol.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I hope these designs of mine didn’t bore you to death. I am still experimenting! Haha, recently I learnt yet another technique to draw flowers so I’m gonna try it out very soon! Expect a nail art post this weekend or the next!

Have a lovely day ahead! <3

Double Accent Blue Floral Nail Design

Hiya! Sorry for the late posting, I went to Universal Studios Singapore today and I’m so so so so tired right now!!! I think I walked for over 12 hours, and I’m really not kidding about that number. The weather is hot as usual, but luckily not a rainy one :D This is actually my second time there and this time I went because of my Dad’s company family event! We ended up walking away with the top prize of the treasure hunt of $100 vouchers because I’m just too smart at giving the correct answers, LOL! (self-praise here, I’m sorry!) Hehe, and we used the vouchers for our fab dinner at the Hard Rock Hotel! The food was meh and it was too overpriced. I think even Botak Jones’ Fish & Chips tasted much better.

Anyway, I’m not sure whether I’m the first to do a double accent nail design… but here it is!!!! :D I love doing floral designs so I decided to duplicate it in a different colour!

Photobucket

I used Essie Lapis Of Luxury on my middle and ring fingers and the rest with Essie Aruba Blue. I did 3 coats for all. Lapis Of Luxury is a beautiful cornflower blue, it isn’t pastel nor a bright; its somewhere in the middle. It is also a little bit streaky. After the second coat, it wasn’t even completely opaque yet. I worn this mani for about 10 hours before it chipped on my index finger :/

As usual, look over to the tags to find out what polishes I used! ;)

Photobucket

Decided to do something out of my norm today, so here’s a few USS photos to spice things up a little!

Photobucket

Kungfu Panda! He’s sooo cute hahaha! Big and round!

Photobucket

We caught 2 Betty Boopers today! I like the second one better because she was so much more friendly! (I don’t like how the first BP is touching my dad’s chest, argh!) That’s my mum’s twin sister if you’re wondering who’s the extra lady, lol.

Photobucket

Woody Woodpecker! Look at my oily hair, you guys!

Photobucket

I certainly look like a tourist with that cap on. -_-

Alright so that’s about the photos that I wanna share! We didn’t take alot of photos because we’ve forgotten to bring our dslr :<

Have a lovely Sunday!!

Green Floral Nail Design

HEY ALLLLL!!!!

You cannot believe how relieved I am right now! 5 days of tests are overrrr and I’m glad to be doing my usual swatching and nail art ;) Anyway, I’m dying to try my new Essies which I bought at Nex at a store called Ministry Of Cube. Definitely should check out that place, it has lots of polishes! I wish they had more range on the Essie side though. Moving on… the colours I picked up was Van D’ Go, Lapis of Luxury, Splash Of Grenadine and lastly, Turquoise & Caicos!

I practically snapped up all the ‘good’ colours since the range wasn’t that wide, lol. I managed to get the last green polish which was Turquoise & Caicos! I have to thank my reader, Tess for telling me that there was only one left.

I am so excited to try Turquoise & Caicos so here it is!! :D

Photobucket

Turquoise & Caicos is a beautiful paris green, the polish looks much lighter in the bottle than on the nails though. I don’t think it looks like a true turquoise. I did 3 coats. Application was smooth but for the first two coats, I did have issues in streaking and bald spots. I’m glad the third one covered it up because I’m not going to like a polish that takes 4 coats and above to get the bottle colour :/

Photobucket

Photobucket

Nah, I wasn’t going to stop here. I did another floral design inspired by Liz by Liquid Jelly! I like what she did to her nails and I wanna try it! And she included a video tutorial which was done by Jessie of Jelly Nails and I didn’t realise how easy it is to do flowers on my nails! Great tutorial by Jessie, you guys should definitely go watch :)

So here’s my design… Sorry, I included lots of photos because it was just too pretty! It’s a perfect time to do a floral mani today because I’m going to Mum’s company event tomorrow with my Dad and my boyfriend for Family Day!

Photobucket

Photobucket

IDK why but the sunlight made the flowers look extra yummy… lol

And a last picture of my right hand!

Photobucket

I did an accent nail on my thumb on my left hand and on my middle finger on my right. Hope that sentence doesn’t sound confusing… hahaha!

Polishes used:

Essie Turquoise & Caicos
Elianto White
Revlon Red
OPI Jade Is The New Black

Have a great Friday everyone!!!! I’m gonna party at home with my laptop and watch as much videos as possible, lol.

OPI Jade Is The New Black + China Glaze Shooting Stars

Its Fridayyyyy!!!! :) Who’s heading down to the mega flea at Expo? You bet I am!! I’m gonna see what new polishes I can pick up, especially from Essie! :D Smoochiezz will be there as well! (that’s the main purpose of me going to this flea, lol)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Today’s feature is… Jade Is The New Black! It is a muted forest grass creme, one of my favourites from the OPI Hongkong collection and also one of my oldest polish in my stash!

I apologize for my untrue pictures. The close up below is much more closer to the polish colour.

Photobucket

And for extra bling, I added 2 coats of China Glaze Shooting Stars on my ring finger as an accent nail! Shooting Stars is a holographic glitter coat with fine silver sparkles and small hexagon pieces. I love how it looks over green and now I can’t wait to layer Shooting Stars over other colours!

Have a great Friday everyone!! Let me know if you’re heading to the flea today… We might actually meet!!! :)

Cupcake Sprinkles Nail Design

Another cupcake design which might be really common around blogs lately. I realized I love doing my designs way past midnight and then waking up in the morning with pretty nails, lol! But then usually they don’t last long because this design is too girly and cute for me (my nails are bare now, btw)

These are not my best… I’m only using a toothpick and a dotting tool. I really need to start using my acrylic paint because it’s starting to collect dust at the corner of my table -_-

Photobucket

Haha I’m not listing down all the polishes used, just look over at the tags! I hope I did list them all down!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Sorry for the short post, it’s not my writing day today. :<

Pink Cath Kidston Inspired Nail Design

It’s another day of Pink Wednesdays! I just got my PDL (provisional driving license) and my driving lessons start tomorrow morning! I’m so nervous and excited!!! I’ve not read up my final theory book so I don’t know what to expect. I just hope I won’t make any stupid mistakes, haha! Okay enough with the rambling, I’ll just let you feast on the pictures!

Photobucket

Flowers are so in right now and I decided to do one based on Cath Kidston! I switched up the colours a little bit to match today’s theme :)
