Gelish: Another Dotted Affair

Sally’s colleague, Siaw Hui wanted to do the same design as what I’ve done for Sally (my boyfriend’s mum) here. I did some minor changes but still kept the theme very closely with the inspired nails from Nail Max!

Photobucket

This time, I used Gelish Make A Difference and Gelish Take Action alternately with China Glaze White Out and OPI I’m An I-ndia Mood For Love for the roses! I really love the Gelish pinks from the breast awareness set!!! :)

Because of time constraint… I only did the dotted lines background on alternate nails. I think they look pretty good like that too! As she wanted them to last until CNY, I suggested not putting any crystals at all so that the manicure wouldn’t be ruined if the crystals did drop. However, she wanted crystals on her thumbs only! (you can’t really see it)

Gelish: French Tip Roses

Belinder came over to my place for her gelish manicure and she told me in advance that she wanted this nail art on her nails! ^^ I love friendly customers, what’s more she’s in the same school as me so we had lots of things to talk about! I did a tutorial on this design months back on Also Known As…

Oh my phone got a little bit crazy ever since last week so I finally got it replaced last night! Now I can receive all messages promptly, yay!

Photobucket

I used 3 thin coats of Gelish Less Talk for the base and then added OPI I’m Indi-a Mood For Love for the rose colour and topped the design off with acrylic paint of black and green! Looks like this OPI colour is a great fave among customers for their floral fix ;) I think I shall try using more gelish colours for the art since it won’t get ‘washed’ away due to friction from daily activities!

I love how the roses pop from the base colours, so much contrast that it looks rather retro! And I love her nail bed, very long and broad even though she has very short nails! I love this design ALOT, and I’m glad to be finally able to do a full set on someone else :)

Gelish: A Dotted Affair

Sally (my boyfriend’s mum) chose this design from the Nail Max Feb 2012 issue when I did a few samples on my nail art wheel! :D

Photobucket

I tweaked the colours to make this design more ‘personalized’! I used Gelish Take Action with Gelish June Bride and Gelish Sleek White with Gelish Vegas Nights as the base colours! After that, I added on oval-shaped blobs using OPI Planks A Lot and OPI Indi-a Mood For Love! The rest of the art was done with acrylic paint! I actually wanted to replace the accent nails (white base) with polka dots as the background but it didn’t turn out as well and it didn’t match with the rest of the nails, so we decided to make it the dotted lines as the background for all the nails!

Did all roses on all fingers except both middle fingers because I don’t want it to be too overcrowding with the roses. Hehe, added a pearl and a ss10 crystal for the middle fingers and also ss4 crystals on the centre of each rose! Love how it shines with the slightest movement of her hands :D

Hehe more pics on her left hand because Sally is more biased, lol! Haha she claims she likes nails on her left hand better cus none of them broke and are of a same length! ;)

I finished doing this pair of nails at 1AM!!! Lol cuz my future mother-in-law (hopefully) got home from work late and we started doing her nails really late too! My eyes were literally cross-eyed cause I was tired but yet I had to focus! :P

Gelish: Tweed with Crystal Ribbon

Bought my Nail Up! November issue last week and I really love lots of designs from there! So here’s my take on them!

I know I shouldn’t be changing up my gelish manicure so frequently but this time… I got really excited about trying this and at the same time; I kinda chipped my nail at the sides a little bit because I knocked really hard on something. Lol, I’m so clumsy…

Photobucket

A tutorial was included which was really easy to follow and TA-DAHHHHH…. I love how easy and effortless this is!

Photobucket

I used Harmony Gelish Take Action as my base colour and also it was kinda a close match to the tutorial. OPI I’m Indi-a Mood For Love, L.A. Color nail art striper in gold and acrylic paints for the rest :)

Added swarovski crystals ss10 and ss5 to make the ribbon! It kinda looks slanted though :/

Summer Stripes and Floral Nail Design

Hello everyone! I’m back to the nail art business!!!!!! :D I copied this design off Nail Up magazine from the July issue. I did my own variation so I hope you like it :) A Summer design even though its almost over haha!

Photobucket

I used OPI Alpine Snow and Essie Lapis of Luxury as my bases! I used my nail art stripers for my pointy, middle and little finger and a dotting tool for the flowers. It was pretty simple to re-create this, I like the look of layering flowers on top of one another so I might do another variation for this :> Colours not mentioned can be found under the tags section as usual ;) I added rhinestones to my middle finger as a little accent because the stripes were a little plain for me. (I always want a little sparkle in my life, lol)

I shall let you feast on the pictures instead!

Lefty :D Not very satisfied with the lines I made because it was kinda slanted.

I went to Kim’s place today to do my gel nails and she’s so friendly and pretty! Love her pink hair haha! I’ll post up pics of my gelish mani tomorrow :)

When Classic Meets Techno Nail Design

Hey guys!!! So I dug my old digital camera out and finally decided to put it to good use! My family abandoned that camera years ago because we got a DSLR. Because I’m such a noob, I’m still not familiar with the functions and this is the main reason why I’ve not used it for any of my nail swatches yet. The digital camera that I’ll be using from today onwards will be Panasonic DMC-FX10. It’s actually a really old model and it has only about 7 megapixels (I think). At least that is better than my current iPhone 4 that I’ve been using from the start to take pics of my nails. Amazing, isn’t it?

Anyway, let me know if this camera has an improvement to my swatches because if not, I will switch back to using my iPhone 4, lol. I like this digital camera much better because it can zoom in w/o making my pics blurry. But, it doesn’t really have that ‘bright’ factor that I always have in my swatches.

Okay…. back to nails. You should have noticed the weird title of this nail design and yes, I AM NOT THAT CREATIVE in naming all my nail designs :P It gets harder and harder after every nail art post, trust me! I am inspired by ClaraH and here’s my rendition of it. :) I’m definitely going to redo this and this time without the accent glitter nails. Also, I think the leaves of my roses are so awkward!! I should have drawn a pair for a rose.

Photobucket

I am using Dior Blue Label as a base for my accent nails, topped with Barry M Blue Glitter. OMG… Barry M Blue Glitter is so densely packed, it is more of a turquoise fine glitter in a clear base! I did a blue base underneath because I thought most glitter will be sparse and randomly spread out but this one is such a beautiful exception. LOVE! <3

The base colour on my other nails is Barry M Strawberry Ice-cream, I apologise for the colour difference because no matter how I photograph it, the colour doesn’t show up! :/ It is actually a bubblegum pink.

Roses are drawn with acrylic paint. Other colours used will be listed under the tags section.

Gumdrop Accent For Pink Wednesday!

Hello lovelies! It’s Wednesday again! I can’t believe that time passes by so quickly. I’m currently in the middle of my exam and I have two more papers to go! I seriously cannot wait till Friday!! I’m gonna take out all my nail art tools and accessories and start doing a proper nail art design :)

Anyway, yesterday morning my pet hamster; Random passed away. :( we buried him near a tree beside our house. Sometimes I come home thinking that he will still be there but in actual fact, he isn’t anymore. I am missing him and I miss the times where I shout his name out loud and jolt him from his sleep :’(

Okay, back to polish!! On Wednesdays we wear pink and I picked OPI I’m Indi-A Mood For Love. It does sounds like I’m In A Mood For Love. I love the word pun!!!! Thumbs up for OPI for the wackiest names. I giggled to myself once I figured out the hidden meaning, lol!

Photobucket

OPI I’m Indi-A Mood For Love is a beautiful dark pink with a touch of magenta in it. I love this one. Its looks cool on my skin tone and I really like it!

As the title suggests, I did an gumdrop accent nail on my ring finger with lots of random dots of different colours! They really look like candies and I thought of gumdrops! Okay… now they look more like those Willy Wonka Gobstoppers, haha! I drew a white heart (in case you can’t tell…) and decorated the borders with gold beads. I was debating on whether to choose silver beads or gold ones and I’m glad I went with the gold. Gold complements white much better :D
