Gelish: Retro Squares!

Rachel requested for this design and I just had to make it happen!

Photobucket

She also chose the colour combi that she wanted and also didn’t want the gold studs as featured.

Photobucket

So I suggested doing a subtle glitter on her green base since it was odd to leave it plain, so that’s Artistic Colour Gloss With It and Gelish Vegas Nights! All nail art was done with gel colours!!! Love them, they look so cute together!

Rachel even mentioned she wanted to corporate yellow in her next Gelish mani! Can’t wait for her next appointment!

Gelish: 2-Tone Red Gradient

CNY is coming and what’s the best way to begin the new year?? By having red on your nails of course! :D

Photobucket

Aggie is my first customer during the CNY period and her gradient is done using Gelish Vegas Nights as the base and Gelish Hotzy for the bold contrast. Gelish June Bride is added at the finally end for the finishing touches! So sparkly!!!! I suggested adding crystals and hexagon glitter pieces but Aggie was afraid that the crystals might fall off and she didn’t like how the glitter pieces looked on her nails. I’m glad she settled for this classic gradient one :)

Gelish: Ethereal Black Beauty

My first manicure flea at *Scape on the 17th was a blast!! Lol, I was in such a rush that I forgot to bring my table lamp and my camera. Good riddance!!! I did lots of designs worth taking photos for and yet I forgot to bring my camera! *bangs head* The lighting was quite bad so taking photos there with my phone was … … a total waste in my opinion. Anyway, lucky for great customers who takes pictures of their nails and sent them to me! So I pardon for the normal photos I usually post :)

Photobucket

My first customer of the day was Charissa and she requested for this nail art :) Simple alternate french tips and half-moons with polka dots on the tips! I used Gelish Vegas Nights for the base first before putting on Gelish Black Shadow! Added silver lining and swarovski crystals of two different sizes and voila!

Charissa even came up with her own creative pose! :D

Hehe so many lovely pics!! <3

Milani Hi-Res

Good evening everyone… I’m currently at the driving centre waiting for my lesson to start so that’s my reason for giving you guys a post!! :) (I love my blog too much I suppose :P )

Photobucket

Milani Hi-Res is a medium red-toned purple with flecks of red, blue, green and pink holographic flecks if you look closely. I was expecting more when I ordered my Milanis from Cherryculture.com, judging from swatches by Scrangie and Temptalia. Honestly, I was a little disappointed because the holographic particles isn’t standing out as prominent that I thought it would.

Anyway, the formula is fantastic and I love the brush! It kinda spreads the polish evenly on my nail when I brush it upwards and the formula was saturated as well. Thumbs up for good formula and brush though! :)

I’ve included lots more pics for your viewing pleasure :>

The Battle of the Blacks!

I’m sick today so thank goodness for a draft post!

So one of my readers requested these ages ago on my formspring for swatches of OPI My Private Jet and Color Club Revvvolution so here they are! Sorry they took so long :/

Individual swatches first…

Photobucket

Photobucket

Even though it is said that Color Club Revvvolution is a black holo… the version that I got wasn’t. It was a flat black with fine silver micro shimmer in it. BORING…. I hate it when companies come up with so many different versions with the same colour because it is so unfair to most of us :( That’s the riskiness of buying online, I thought mine was a holo and I ended up buying a boring black colour which was really mehhhh. Even OPI Black Onyx looks so much sophisticated.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Again… this colour was said to be holo and OPI made a dull and holo version. Obviously I got the dull version but at least this has sparse holo glitter in it! It is definitely lighter than Color Club Revvvolution.

Photobucket

Lastly, here are the comparisons! I don’t think I need to comment further on the colours… both of them are so different but yet similar in some ways (I’m talking about these companies doing different versions of the same product, argh!)

Keep your requests coming! I’ll definitely do comparisons if I have the polishes :)

Milani Hi-Tech

I just got home from pasam malam (which means night market in Malay) and I got myself a nude/beige bag! It was big enough for my school stuff so yay! I ate so much there just now too… Lol!

Sigh…. as much as I love holographic polishes, I can never photograph them properly! :( I took a bunch of photos indoors and outdoors and only these turned out fine but it still doesn’t accurately show the exact colour!! *frustrated* For more accurate swatches of these, I suggest Scrangie! My camera failed me :(

Photobucket

Milani Hi-Tech is a gorgeous lime green scattered holo. It doesn’t have a strong holo effect like OPI DS Original, but its still pretty! It dried like 2 shades darker than the bottle which was odd. It might have been due to the 3 thin coats that I did!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh wow I just love how the flash photo turned out but… it still isn’t the exact colour! :(
Photobucket

I find that this post is meaningless. LOL.

OPI Jade Is The New Black + China Glaze Shooting Stars

Its Fridayyyyy!!!! :) Who’s heading down to the mega flea at Expo? You bet I am!! I’m gonna see what new polishes I can pick up, especially from Essie! :D Smoochiezz will be there as well! (that’s the main purpose of me going to this flea, lol)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Today’s feature is… Jade Is The New Black! It is a muted forest grass creme, one of my favourites from the OPI Hongkong collection and also one of my oldest polish in my stash!

I apologize for my untrue pictures. The close up below is much more closer to the polish colour.

Photobucket

And for extra bling, I added 2 coats of China Glaze Shooting Stars on my ring finger as an accent nail! Shooting Stars is a holographic glitter coat with fine silver sparkles and small hexagon pieces. I love how it looks over green and now I can’t wait to layer Shooting Stars over other colours!

Have a great Friday everyone!! Let me know if you’re heading to the flea today… We might actually meet!!! :)

OPI Teal The Cows Come Home + Orly Prisma Gloss Gold

Hello lovelies! :) it’s Thursday which means it’s only a day till the weekends! I bet there’s lots of people counting down with me too!

Anyway… I failed my basic driving evaluation by one mark! ;( I need to get 63 and above to be considered a pass! That’s 90%! Sigh… It means I have to go down to the driving centre again next week to take the evaluation again! :/ I’m so not looking forward to it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I got OPI Teal The Cows Come Home a few months back and I didn’t think of using it until today! Its a beautiful light blue frost with silver shimmer! I did 2 coats of polish and added 2 coats of Orly Prisma Gloss Gold for more shine!

I have an exciting post lined up for you all tomorrow~ :) Stay tuned!

OPI DS Reflection

Today is going to be a busy day for me! Going to school for 2hours and then I’m rushing back home to bring my bagpack to school for another 2hours and then I’ll be meeting my diving mates at 5PM! I hope for no rainy days at Bintan ;)

Remember me saying that I have no more OPI Designer Series to show you all? I managed to score a few from Caryn ;) As usual, I got so excited upon receiving them that I immediately chose OPI DS Reflection as my mani.

Photobucket

OPI DS Reflection is a coral-red with tiny pink flakies and silver shimmer. It gives off this orangey glow from the bottle and it’s so glorious! The silver shimmer seems to be giving off many different colours of sparkles under the light! But unfortunately, I could only pick this out from the bottle.

Photobucket

I did 2 coats, when I could stop at 1. The formula is amazing! It’s thick but smooth and it glides on my nails, just like butter! It’s so rare for OPI to come up with 1-coaters nowadays so I’m so happy for this one! However, there is a need for a topcoat to bring out the the silver shimmers better.

Make Up Store Madeleine

I didn’t know there was such a brand called Make Up Store. And neither was I aware that it had several outlets in Singapore until I googled and went to their website and saw their various outlets in different countries. I’m such a dummy ;P So knowing that they had a few holographic polishes, I went to the store at Vivo and picked up Madeleine and Greta (because these were the only holographic ones in the store). I figured I should pick up the holo polishes since it retails for $22 per bottle. (I might as well get those that are the most unique, hahaha! That’s my logic!)

Indoors:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Make Up Store Madeleine is a pale peach, leaning towards brown holographic polish. I’m at loss for words to describe holos because it’s beyond dazzling. I had to redo my manicure because I added a base coat and it didn’t work. I got lots of streaks and it dried up matte which is not what I wanted. I did my mani again without the base coat and it worked perfectly! This is 3 coats with 1 coat of Seche Vite. This needed a topcoat because it wasn’t shiny enough and the holos weren’t that obvious.

Outdoors:

Photobucket

;( I didn’t manage to take photos at home so these photos were taken in school! I apologise for the bad lighting… and it just sucks when the holo doesn’t show up!!! But fret not, I did film a nail polish haul video (which will be up hopefully by tomorrow) and you can see the pure holographic-ness of this polish in its glory. IT’S UP! If you’re just interested to see the holo, fast forward to 10.19 of the video!

I believe this is my first time having no nail polish bottles in all the pics! :O
