Preparation for Exam!

A little update: my manicure exam is next weekend!!!! I’m almost done with my homework and I’m pretty satisfied about it. Once I get it completed; I’ll do a post about it ^^

Oh and more pics of the manicure: http://varnishingrainbows.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/byshonamentalforpolish/ , taken from Ann’s blog! She does very awesome flower corsages and bouquets; take a look!

Anyway, about a week ago, I sought for help in nail models for the exam day and lovely Ann volunteered to be mine, yay! As usual, I practiced on french and red nails that is required for the exam during a self-practice session last Thursday!

Sigh, my light pink polish is still so streaky!!! :(

Ann did something that made me squealed from my heart! She made me a personalised goodie bag from my blog banner and she filled it with lots of edible goodness! She is so kind and thoughtful, she was actually afraid that I might scold her for using my blog banner w/o my permission, silly!! :D

And then she said let’s pose with the bag then I do not have to watermark them, lol!!!

Ann also told me she wanted China Glaze For Audrey to be the french tip with a red base and initially I find it unmatching! After doing the entire manicure, I realised its a good combination! Ann has good taste! Also, she even brought her own gold glitter striper for me to use :)

Gelish: Lilac Lace

Another one of my favorite gelish manicures ever!!!! :D kept it on for nearly 2 weeks and I was so reluctant to remove it a few days ago! I had to remove it because my thumb nail broke pretty badly :(

Photobucket

Used Angel Pro 26 for the pretty teal colour and Angel Pro 5, a pale lilac for the lace design and dots! My base colour was Gelish Desert Sands!

Added a mini bow charm and crystals to piece everything together!

Btw, lots of people commented that the lace looked like stickers!!!! :D even Teacher Nicole was surprised that it was hand drawn!

Gelish: Jumping Geometry

Shermagne actually decided on polka dot accents on her nails but changed her mind when she saw my new nail art wheel!

This design is from the latest issue of Nail Max or Nail Up! magazine! (I can’t remember from which!)

Photobucket

The base colour is a light grey from AngelPro 14, which in some angles look like a pale, dusty light lilac! All art was done in Gelish, so head to the tabs section to know all the colours used!! :)

So cute! I find that shapes are really in trend this season!

Self-study session: Slant Double French

Had self-study sessions last week and worked on Miao Xian!

I finally got OPI colours that is approved by the school for exams; what I’ve used is OPI Mod About You and OPI Big Apple Red. The pink was sooo streaky!!! I had to apply a thicker coat to cover the bald spots. But the problem is that it causes the entire nail to be too thick and I might have problems doing French later on :(

Miao Xian also requested for this design and show me a photo from the net:

And here’s what I did for her! I forgot to take pics and she kindly sent me :D I used OPI Ogre The Top Blue, OPI What’s With The Cattitude and OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees!

Gelish: Retro Tips

Angela came with a unique design in mind! She wanted a spin-off from this photo!

Photobucket

We had a hard time choosing colours to match this photo!

Photobucket

A total of 10 colours are used, do visit the tags if you want to know what I’ve used! We did alternate colours on french tips and personally I like how her right hand looks, the colour combination is so punk!

I also had a great time chatting with Angela :)

Gelish: Lace up, Jack!

Peixuan has a lace fetish and she decided to use my lace stickers!! Yay, I finally get to do the pasting and cutting of stickers for someone :)

(P.S. I do have a few limited edition stickers from Japan to beautify your nails! So almost no one in Singapore will have the exact same set of nails as you do!)

Photobucket

Base colour is Gelish Black Shadow for the lace, Gelish Caution & Wiggle Finger, Wiggle Thumbs for the Union Jack! I love how edgey this looks, who would have thought that lace and union jack goes so well? :P

All art done with gel colours, view my tabs for the choice of colours used! :)

Gelish: Rainbow Cupcakes

Belinder wanted rainbow nails with cupcakes!!! :)

Photobucket

Used alot of Gelish nail colours; so do check the tags for the names if interested! Did all the art in Gelish so that it lasts longer; except the confetti icing which is a glitter polish from Forever21 Multi. Added red Korean rhinestones for the finishing touch!

Belinder also wanted the art to face her; instead of the usual and I think it still looks sooo cute!!

Hehe decided to go wild and crazy with this year’s CNY manicure!!!! Omg I love how the colours looks so good together! Looking at it makes me super happy alrdy :D

P.S. this was my CNY manicure so I should actually post this first instead of Gelish: Hard Candy… Oh well! Lol.

Photobucket

As you can see, this design isn’t anything new; I’ve already done it twice on customers but this is my first time doing a rainbow gelish manicure!! Colours used: ONS I-Gel Tip Toe Thru The Tulips, Gelish Make A Difference, Artistic Colour Gloss Fly, Artistic Colour Gloss Wham and Artistic Colour Gloss With It!

Gelish: Peek-A-Boo Leopard

Hehe what I love during the CNY peak period is that lots of people are more willing to try more new designs!!!!

This is actually adapted from a nail art magazine which I forgot, sorry!

Photobucket

The first set is actually done with nail polish, China Glaze White Cap as the see-through base, OPI Elephantastic Pink on top and blue leopard prints custom mixed from acrylic paint! I was in such a rush for this manicure that I forgot to take photos of it and this customer of mine was so kind to send me this photo! :D The triangles are lined with silver striper!

Photobucket

The next set is by using gelish!Gelish Vegas Nights with Gelish Less Talk with red leopard prints done with acrylic paint! Hehe this was my friend’s mum hands and I think that middle-aged ladies that are willing to try such outrageous prints are a bonus!!

Photobucket

So which colour combination do you like best? :P

Gelish: Rockeristic

Decided to put a good use for my silver star studs from Ying! Mary wanted a dark theme for her nails this new year and ‘rocker’ comes to my mind immediately!

Photobucket

This is ONS I-Gel Tahitian Tides and Gelish Waterfield as the bases! Looks like a thumb nail accent is in the rage right now! So cute! Leopard prints with black diamond crystals diagonally across!
