Ribbons Galore!

Hui Ru requested for this design from tumblr and we made a few changes! As she broke one of her nails; we changed the design into a half-moon instead; which makes her nails look longer!

The colours used for the base was OPI Elephantastic Pink and OPI Alpine Snow! I also adorned the ribbons with a small crystal each; and it looks like a wrapped present! Hui Ru also wanted to try the lace stickers when she saw what I did with my own nails too! (will be up next!) I really like how her accent nail looks, so bridal!

Haha and Hui Ru immediately took a photo of her nails and sent it to her boyfriend and he lavishly complimented the execution of the design. :D Happy customers makes me happy too!

When Classic Meets Techno Nail Design

Hey guys!!! So I dug my old digital camera out and finally decided to put it to good use! My family abandoned that camera years ago because we got a DSLR. Because I’m such a noob, I’m still not familiar with the functions and this is the main reason why I’ve not used it for any of my nail swatches yet. The digital camera that I’ll be using from today onwards will be Panasonic DMC-FX10. It’s actually a really old model and it has only about 7 megapixels (I think). At least that is better than my current iPhone 4 that I’ve been using from the start to take pics of my nails. Amazing, isn’t it?

Anyway, let me know if this camera has an improvement to my swatches because if not, I will switch back to using my iPhone 4, lol. I like this digital camera much better because it can zoom in w/o making my pics blurry. But, it doesn’t really have that ‘bright’ factor that I always have in my swatches.

Okay…. back to nails. You should have noticed the weird title of this nail design and yes, I AM NOT THAT CREATIVE in naming all my nail designs :P It gets harder and harder after every nail art post, trust me! I am inspired by ClaraH and here’s my rendition of it. :) I’m definitely going to redo this and this time without the accent glitter nails. Also, I think the leaves of my roses are so awkward!! I should have drawn a pair for a rose.

Photobucket

I am using Dior Blue Label as a base for my accent nails, topped with Barry M Blue Glitter. OMG… Barry M Blue Glitter is so densely packed, it is more of a turquoise fine glitter in a clear base! I did a blue base underneath because I thought most glitter will be sparse and randomly spread out but this one is such a beautiful exception. LOVE! <3

The base colour on my other nails is Barry M Strawberry Ice-cream, I apologise for the colour difference because no matter how I photograph it, the colour doesn’t show up! :/ It is actually a bubblegum pink.

Roses are drawn with acrylic paint. Other colours used will be listed under the tags section.

Blue Daisies Nail Art Design

Hello guys! I have another flower-themed nail art design to show you today and it is inspired by another Youtube tutorial by Love4Nails! :) Her tutorials are always easy to do but yet remain complex and stunning! <3 Another easy technique to do daisies instead of doing stroke by stroke of petals from my last daisies nail design!

Photobucket

I used China Glaze VIII as base and its actually a dark plum creme but it looks almost black indoors. I know the pictures doesn’t really show but I actually did put leaves and gold dots to finish up the design! I should have used brighter colours for those details haha

Photobucket

Can you see bedsheet marks on my thumb??? Hate it when that happens!!! :/

Anyway I’ll be having my mid-year exams in less than 2 weeks so I think I might go on hiatus for a little while :) I’m not sure when I’ll start but you’ll know it when the time comes, lol! I have like 5 modules to study for D:

Polka Dot with Swirling Roses Nail Design

Hey all! I promised a nail art post so here it is ;) the sun was scorching hot this afternoon when I woke up so hence the super bright pics! ^^

Photobucket

I’m not a very original person so I can’t help it by doing another rose design! I did it by using a different technique and I have to say that it didn’t turn out well. :/ it doesn’t even look like roses anymore, just spots of blobby mess! I definitely need to find a super sharp and thin pointer that I can use for the swirling. My smallest dotting tool was still too big for this.

Polishes that I used are listed at the end of the post under tags. I used acrylic paint with the roses.

Photobucket

I think my right hand turned out better than my left!! The roses looked more proportionate lol.

I hope these designs of mine didn’t bore you to death. I am still experimenting! Haha, recently I learnt yet another technique to draw flowers so I’m gonna try it out very soon! Expect a nail art post this weekend or the next!

Have a lovely day ahead! <3

Roses Nail Design

Hello everyone!!! It’s August already… can you believe it?? :O

Today, I have another roses nail design AGAIN and this is what I was sporting on my nails for the weekend. This time… I used a different technique to draw roses! I used acrylic paint and I had to use a very precise and thin brush to draw the petals! I almost gave up halfway but luckily I didn’t because it looked amazing! I received lots of compliments from the new friends that I made at Halloween Horrors camp this weekend, haha! It’s like something to talk about to break the ice lol. Anyway… the past 2 days had been awesome and tiring at the same time! My team won 3rd for Amazing Race but we won the enthu group cheer woohoo!!! So proud of my team ;) We actually mixed popular songs and changed the lyrics to suit our group’s name and it was H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!

The weather in Singapore has been up and down lately… I always can’t seem to take good swatch photos now :/

I used China Glaze Below Deck and OPI Alpine Snow as my bases and then I used acrylic paint for the roses and highlights. I’ve been having CG Below Deck for awhile now and its my first time using it as my full mani! I love it! Its a musky dark purple with greyish tones.

I’m getting better and better drawing/painting with my left hand, yay!

Short post with overspamming of pics, hope you don’t mind! ;)

Daisies Nail Design

It was raining this morning and I couldn’t snap pics outside :( But it was great going school on a rainy day because there’s an excuse to be late :D LOL!

I missed last week’s Pink Wednesday because I got caught up in schoolwork and didn’t change my mani! So here’s a fun pink to make up for it! Today’s inspiration design was from Rina! Her nail art is gorgeous!!! My daisies didn’t turn out as well as hers… mine was too pointed, haha! But it was a good try for me! The flowers are all done with acrylic paint.

Photobucket

Barry M Fuchsia is a lovely shade of dark red-tone pink creme (it’s actually much darker than it is pictured here). The formula was top-notch, very smooth and pigmented and can be a one-coater if you put it on thick.

I added sparkly 2.4mm korean rhinestones on my ring finger which I got from eBay for about USD2.44. It actually arrived last night and I was so excited to use it that I just slapped it on my mani, lol. Its cheap but yet retains the shine after topcoat. I used to buy those 1800 rhinestones in nail wheels from eBay and those are about 1.5mm and they’re shiny but after putting on a topcoat… they completely lose their shine. Its feels like the topcoat clogged up near the rhinestones and blocking out the light from hitting it. These new rhinestones that I have on are incredible! They are still sparkly and shiny even after a thick topcoat, which I am so thankful for! ;)

Goodnight! (:

Autumn Leaves Nail Design, supposedly

I’m so tired tonight… but I managed to try my acrylic paints today! I got this set of paints from PNC Traders for $27.50! It’ll take me awhile to use/finish them so I hope I will utilise them.

Photobucket

But please prepared to throw up your last meal. I did a horrible job. I’m not a good painter. :( I got the inspiration from my bedsheets! They were just beside me so I thought I’ll try to recreate those on my nails. Oh well…

I must be giving you the impression that my bedsheets look horrible because of how my nail design turned out.

Photobucket

Sadly… I was so depressed with this that I didn’t do a full manicure. Too lousy to even show it in public. Sorry these pictures have a lousy quality because it’s midnight now! (as I am typing this… this manicure is in the past)

Photobucket

I just hope I get better! I know I can do better! :)

For those who wants to know the polishes in contributing to the puke manicure:

Bases: OPI You Don’t Know Jacques, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, China Glaze Life Preserver
Other Polishes: China Glaze Tree Hugger, OPI Alpine Snow

Goodnight everyone! I’ll never look at my bedsheets the same again…
