Deborah Lippmann Daytripper & Boom Boom Pow

This week is my term test week and I’m extremely stressed out but I’m certainly looking forward to Friday!!! Can’t wait!!! There’s so many things to do this holiday~ :D

Anyway, I have Deborah Lippmann Daytripper to show you today! It’s a pretty jelly pink coral!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Though it looks pretty good on its own… I added Boom Boom Pow right on top of it! The gold really complimented this pinkish coral and brought out the orange tones in it; it kinda looks like a small sparkly fireball!

I had no problems with the formula at all, absolutely flawless! I’m kinda lagging behind Deborah Lippmann’s collections already because the last polish I got from DL is Daytripper and that was probably in June! I need more of her festive glitters!! *__*

Have a great day ahead :D

MAC Obey Me & Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow

Happy Deepavali everyone!! To celebrate the occasion, here’s what I have on my nails today!! :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

MAC Obey Me is one of the limited edition polishes from the Wonder Woman collection. This was indeed one of my first MAC polishes because I feel so attracted to the packaging! I’ve did swatches of these in the past but they weren’t up to standard so here’s my swatch again :)

And since I wasn’t satisfied with just a red creme on my nails, I added a touch of glam!

I love how Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow complements the red! It kinda makes the red a touch richer and brighter, almost reaching the coral spectrum.

Have a lovely day today!

Cupcake Sprinkles Nail Design

Another cupcake design which might be really common around blogs lately. I realized I love doing my designs way past midnight and then waking up in the morning with pretty nails, lol! But then usually they don’t last long because this design is too girly and cute for me (my nails are bare now, btw)

These are not my best… I’m only using a toothpick and a dotting tool. I really need to start using my acrylic paint because it’s starting to collect dust at the corner of my table -_-

Photobucket

Haha I’m not listing down all the polishes used, just look over at the tags! I hope I did list them all down!

Sorry for the short post, it’s not my writing day today. :<

Deborah Lippmann Don’t Tell Mama

Photobucket

When I have short nails, I like to paint them with darker shades! So today’s notd is Deborah Lippmann Don’t Tell Mama. DTM is a black base with very fine emerald-green shimmer. The shimmer is pretty obvious on the nails under strong sunlight.

To me, this feels like a hidden shimmer. You won’t know it’s actually a green polish unless you look really closely, especially indoors.

Photobucket

I cannot capture the fine shimmer on my nails so here’s the bottle pic! Gorgeous, yes?

Have a great Friday! I’m having a BBQ tonight, awesome!

Alternate Glitter Mani

Heyyyy guysssss :) How is your day so far? Today’s the 9th month anniversary of my boyfriend and I so we’re going to watch ‘Kungfu Panda 2′ after school! Hehe I’m kinda excited because I love cartoons/animations! ;)

Anyway, I finally managed to get a hold of a bottle of Nubar 2010!!!! It’s on my wishlist for a very long time and now I finally have it! (actually I still don’t have it literally but the seller is gonna send it out today!) thank you to an awesome reader who told me this site like ages ago! I got Nubar 2010 for $12.50 at The Side Walks :)

Photobucket

I did another layering mani with OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees and Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow! I did 2 coats of OPI SSITP and 2 thin coats of Deborah Lippmann BBP! (the names are too long, lol)

I love Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees! It’s such a great vampy greyish dark blue! I picked this up when I was at PNC Traders a month back and I had to buy it because it’s the last bottle left! I’m such an impulsive buyer, I know!

Photobucket

Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow just adds alot more oomph into the mani! It’s a golden glitter fiesta on my nails! I’m still not considering wearing BBP on it’s own because it’s sheer and therefore would mean that I have to use more coats. (this means I’m wasting more polish, lol. I’m calculative like that!)

Photobucket

Okay I should probably stop typing, lol!
Till then, bye! ^^

Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle

Good afternoon! I was planning to post this before my diving trip last weekend but I kinda didn’t want to because of the bad quality of pics! :/

But since I have no new mani to show you today, I might as well post this! I’d probably swatch this again :) (I’m still wearing my leopard and zebra nail design after 2 days!)

This is before I cut off my nails haha!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle! It’s a gorgeous fuchsia glitter in a sheer black base! It’s a little bit gritty to the touch to be honest but after putting on a coat of Seche Vite, it’s smooth! I love how the fuchsia glitter shines through whenever the light hits it! It’s kinda like China Glaze Ruby Pumps’ fuchsia sister as their finishes look really similar.

I totally destroyed my mani on my right hand so only pics of left hand which is a first for me! Lobster hands on my left :(

Photobucket

The sunlight isn’t hitting it at the right places! I think the close-up is the closest to the polish. It is actually much more pink and flattering in real life, not as red pictured.

OPI Simply Smashing + Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow

Hey guys! I have another layering mani to show you today! :D Again… I wanted to layer Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow onto something else but I couldn’t find a match until I came across OPI Simply Smashing! It is said that the polish is supposed to have the same colour as a tennis ball but I don’t really see the resemblance :/

Photobucket

Photobucket
Anyway… I don’t really like how this turned out.. Looks like an icky ball instead ;( The glitters from Boom Boom Pow doesn’t really stand out. I think maybe I should layer it over a dark blue polish?

But I paired with this leopard double ring to school and I think it looks fine because it kinda matches my mani! ;)

Photobucket

I am so tired on the first day of school… because I slept late the night before! I was yawning every lesson but thank goodness school ended early and I went shopping! ;) A little shopping haul next… :D

Deborah Lippmann did it again…

Deborah Lippmann managed to get my jaw drop again… Look at those polishes that she’ll be releasing this Summer!

Girls Just Want To Have Fun is a coral pink shade

I Know What Boys Like… a periwinkle blue

Yellow Brick Road, as seen on Lady Gaga.

Lara’s Theme, an orangey coral shade. This polish is interesting… I’ve not seen any speculations on this polish or any swatches but I browsed through Nordstrom’s site today and I’ve found this under Spring/Summer 2011!

I love that Deborah Lippmann is spot-on for the colours this Summer! I’d love to get all the polishes and paint it on my toes!

Also.. I am thinking of picking up Deborah Lippmann Get Nailed Set! Photobucket
It’s a great deal… 4 full sized polishes, a polish remover and a freebie bag for USD49! I’m dying to try The Stripper but its too expensive to buy on its own! It cost about half of this gift set! But then again… I shouldn’t spend anymore on nail polishes! I have a bunch of them untried… :(

China Glaze Jitterbug + Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale

Hey guys! It’s been raining at abnormal hours in Singapore recently and I hate it. As much as I love the rain when I’m sleeping in, its so annoying when it rains when I want to take a photo of my nail polish swatch or when I’m heading out! It irks me when my shoes get wet :/

Photobucket

Anyway, I have a fun layered mani today and I thought of this combo because I am dying to use Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale. It is said to contain Virgin Diamond Powder which I have no idea what’s the benefit of it. Apparently, Virgin Diamond Powder is good stuff, I googled and it cost $2/carat. (LOL!) Google doesn’t seem to tell me the benefits of this powder though. Ok back to the topic… I used 2 coats of China Glaze Jitterbug and 1 coat of Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale.

For those who wants to know where I got my Deborah Lippmanns from, the answer is eBay! Makeupboutique is a great place to shop! She has a whole wide range of DL to choose from! Here’s the link: http://stores.ebay.com.sg/makeupboutique they don’t have any items listed for now because they’re currently under maintenance for 10 days! So keep checking back the site!

Photobucket

I’ve seen swatches of Today Was A Fairytale and I didn’t like the look of it being swatched alone so thus, I’ve decided to layer it over Jitterbug instead. I must say I like the look of the polishes layered together so yay! Does anyone have any weird combi that you want me to try out? ;D Just leave a comment!

Photobucket

Have an awesome Friday!!!! I’m staying in tonight just to catch up on my relaxing time hehe. I’m not looking forward to the weekends because I will be working ;( And then school starts on Monday! *excited* I’m always excited on the first week of school and after that will be meh. I think the same goes to everybody hahaha

EDIT: Here’s my impromptu outfit of the day photo!
Photobucket

Sorry the photo is blurry because I was taking it when I’m at the train platform and I don’t want people to think that I’m crazy. HAHAHA!

Deborah Lippmann Spring 2011: Swatches & Review

Photobucket

Hey guys! I have another spring collection that I’m gonna showcase today! Deborah Lippmann has slowly becoming one of my favourite luxury brand nail polishes! I love that her chunky glitters can be removed effortlessly and also the quality of the polishes. I own about 12 of them and I love every single one of them!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Naked is a beige-y tone nude leaning slightly dark, almost matching my skin tone. It doesn’t really stand out which is great for working ladies or for those who wants to achieve mannequin hands. Personally, I don’t feel Naked is worth the price because it isn’t that unique! There are other nude polishes from other brands at cheaper prices. But if you’re going for quality, then this is the one to pick!

Glitter In The Air… is a pink and blue hexagon glitter with silver smaller pieces suspended in a sheer baby blue polish. I shall quote Alizarine Claws that it looks like contaminated milk. I agree with this one. So interesting and different but yet weird.  It has more blue hexagon glitter than pink from my swatches and the only thing that I do not like about chunky glitters is that some of my nails have concentrated glitters at one area. I have to admit that I bought this polish because of how it looks in its bottle. So magical and it looks like fairy dust! There is still visible nail line when I did 3 coats so maybe a nude polish or a white underneath would make it look better.

Photobucket
A macro shot of Glitter In The Air

All swatches are 3 coats with 1 coat of Seche Vite. Application was fab, no bald spots and no streaking! I know lots of people have issues with Glitter In The Air and other similar glitters from Deborah Lippman but I have no problems with that. I only waited for about a minute or so before applying the next coat. I think doing thin layers is much better for glitters as it dry faster and thus reduce the possibility of dragging the polish!

Overall, I’m biased towards Glitter In The Air just because it looks great in the bottle. Its either you hate it or you love it. I think it will look good with short nails because personally I don’t like seeing my visible nail line but its impossible to get a opaque shade for this. I’d probably layer Glitter In The Air over blue or pink so that the glitters in the polish will stand out.

Side tracking a little, I’ve no idea how why my codes doesn’t show up correctly on my sidebar. I used the text widget to try and add in Google Friend Connect so its easier for people to follow my blog but my codes ended up jumbled and the image doesn’t show! :( I tried following the steps here: http://www.expand2web.com/blog/friend-connect-wordpress/ but it still doesn’t work. Is my current theme the problem? :/
