Black Gradient Ribbon Nail Art

What a lovely Sunday!! I spent my entire afternoon doing a few new nail designs on my colour wheel! I’ll post it up in a couple of days :) I was inspired by YouTube videos and my Nail Up! magazine!

So this one was kinda like an impromptu nail design. I wanted to do a gradient design so this is what I’ve came up with! I also decided to use my striping tape for the first time and to me, it was kinda tricky to handle!

Photobucket

I also hand drew a ribbon on my ring finger as an accent nail. :) don’t laugh at the shape of my ribbon please, I’m doing my best with my left hand alrdy! :/

Hope you guys like this one as much as I do! :)

Goodnight!

Another Leopard & Zebra Design…

Hi all!! So tonight’s my last night of selling OPI at Clarke Quay so come on down alright? It’s near the pub area! Cross the bridge and walk straight! I’m near ‘Clinic’! It’s weird to see that pub with hospital beds and wheel chairs but I like their concept!! Their waitresses are in nurses uniform too I think, which might juz give the wrong sexual idea… LOL

Anyway, here’s our booth! It isn’t a full view of our booth cus there was some obstruction! Also, we have the full collection of Nice Stems!!! (spot the display set at a corner) $10 for Assorted OPI colours, $28 for sets and $14 for Nice Stems!

We had quite a good response so it’s awesome! And lots of people complimented on my floral nails too :D <3 so for today's mani… I decided to do my signature leopard/zebra print in contrasting colours!

I used OPI Glitzerland and CND Just Red for the bases :) there’s nothing much to say about this mani because I always alternate the base colours hahaha!

Haha this photo was taken by my brother! Finally, a nice shot of both my hands!!!! Lol.

I am starting work soon! See you :)

CND Urban Oasis V.S. Orly Sapphire Silk

Another comparison! I know, I must be on a roll. Hahaha!

Sorry for the lack of updates and for posting 2 comparisons in a row. I woke up at 4.30AM to study for my paper and I’ve officially gone crazy. I need sleep.

Photobucket

CND Urban Oasis is a dark teal creme leaning more towards green while Orly Sapphire Silk is a teal but has more blue in it than green. Again, these aren’t dupes at all. Both colours are really pretty. I think that Urban Oasis will look good on people with darker skin tones and Sapphire Silk on fairer skin tones.

Formula wise, I prefer CND. CND is so underrated!! Lovely formula, lovely bottle. I almost did a one coat on Urban Oasis but I did two anyway because that’s what I always do. And I love CND’s brush. It isn’t as wide as OPI or as thin as China Glaze but its somewhere in the middle. I like that. Again… I don’t think I have to mention again how irritable Orly’s formula is. I just cannot seem to make it work on a full mani. :(

I didn’t have the time to be on my laptop to edit and upload my pics on yesterday’s mani! :( but I promise it will be up very soon! :D

CND Just Red and Red Sparkle: Swatches & Review

Opps, sorry for reviewing this duo so late! It initially came out this year for Valentine’s! I was rearranging my stash in my Helmer a few days back and I came across these. (omg can you believe that 4 of my drawers are full??!) Funny thing is… I’ve forgotten that I own them but now I do!

Just Red is a blood red polish. Nothing much to say about this one. It’s just a regular red polish that everyone should have in their stash! This bottle came 1/2 full because it leaked while its in the packaging :( I get really upset when my polishes get leaked during shipping because my money is wasted, lol!

Red Sparkle over Just Red. I love the combination! Looks like fiery fire! It sparkles really well too, it’s actually fine red glitter suspended in a clear base.

Now for the formulae, these are simply fantastic. I love CND because of their smooth application and their brushes and I have absolutely no problems with this one. You can get away with 1 coat with Just Red, that’s how opaque this polish is!!

Maybe they shouldn’t have paired red with a red glitter for Valentine’s. It’s too boring. They should have done a pink polish with red and pink glitter, that would be awesome!

Green Layering Mani

Hello it’s a Thursday… the day which I dislike the most in a week.  School is 9AM-4PM  which I’m really dreading and also, I’m going down to the driving centre after school tonight to take my basic revaluation test (again!!!!!) Eek, I really hope I pass this time. It sucks to waste time travelling to the other side of Singapore and back again :/

I’ve not used my OPI POTC collection after it was being swatched a couple of months ago so today I randomly picked up Stranger Tides to do a random layering mani! :) As you can see… Seche Vite kinda ate my glitter finger :(

For my ring finger I layered 2 coats of Canmake Kiwi Green and for the rest of my fingers, I did 1 coat of CND Teal Sparkle. I kinda love this combi even though it kinda looks weird at first :P I definitely need to purchase more CND Effects polishes! I don’t understand why till now I only have 3 CND Effects… lol.

I just got home and I need to start studying and revising for my test next Tuesday! :)

See you all!

CND The Look Spring/Summer 2011: Perfectly Bare & Perfectly Bare Shimmer Swatches and Review

Photobucket

So I got my Transdesign package in the mail from Hazel which I purchased a couple of the OPI Designer Series, a big bottle of Seche Restore, Seche Rose and of cause, CND The Look for Spring/Summer 2011! The sad thing is…. one of my OPI Designer series got broken in the mail!!!! Goodbye OPI DS Classic :( Look at the hot mess, booooooo

CND The Look for Spring/Summer 2011 features 2 nail lacquers in nude pearly shades. ‘S-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-. It may all be a dream. Hues are fragile, with a delicate sheen to match. Wear them like a whisper as the summer shadows grow long’. Alot of nail polish companies are featuring light nude shades for Spring 2011 , it seems like mannequin hands are the rage right now! Deborah Lippmann (Naked), OPI (San-tan-tonio) and Misa (9 to 5 collection) did include nudes in their collections too.

Perfectly Bare is a flesh toned nude leaning slightly towards pink.

Perfectly Bare Shimmer is a nude pearl peachy shade with specks of silver glitter. It has a slight duochrome too, which flashes pink.

Obviously the colours is not standing out because this is an effect polish. Lol, don’t comment on my yellow nails please >;(

I love Perfectly Bare on my skintone. Its a perfect sandy nude pink colour, perfect for working ladies! (Hehe I’m wearing this to work today!)

I honestly thought that Perfectly Bare Shimmer  was going to make the overall mani worst but  I think I’m 50/50 on this one. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. It does make a teeny weeny bit of difference but not much. I prefer this in creme, not shimmer. I did one coat of Perfectly Bare Shimmer over Perfectly Bare.

I honestly think CND is a little bit overpriced. It cost about USD5 for a CND polish and USD5.75 for an OPI polish. Even though OPI is more expensive, the quantity in the bottle is so much more, 15ml for OPI and only 9.8ml for CND. Anyway, overall I really love Perfectly Bare but just not its counterpart; Perfectly Bare Shimmer. But you can’t get one or the other without buying the set… … … (I think!)

CND Night Factory Duo

Finally, a collection swatch!

I have these two bottles sitting on my nail polish tray for a very long time since I’ve gotten it a couple of months ago! So I decided to do a full mani with them!

Urban Oasis is a teal-green but when compared to a blue colour, it looks green and vice versa. I love it! This polish is so pigmented that it flowed like butter! What you see is what you get! You can even get away with one coat!

But… Application was a little tricky because there was a flaw in the brush! It doesn’t move where I want it to be! I think I got a faulty brush but I don’t care because I simply love the colour!

Urban Oasis, 2 coats no topcoat

Next up, Teal Sparkle. As the name says it, I think it flashes more yellow and green than teal. Personally I love this shade by itself but not layered over Urban Oasis! I feel that it sort of muted that gorgeous colour. But for sparkly lovers out there, this is a must-get! (I’d probably get a few more CND Effects polishes cus I love glitter/sparkles/shimmers and I’ll get more colour combinations for my polishes!)
