Preparation for Exam!

A little update: my manicure exam is next weekend!!!! I’m almost done with my homework and I’m pretty satisfied about it. Once I get it completed; I’ll do a post about it ^^

Oh and more pics of the manicure: http://varnishingrainbows.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/byshonamentalforpolish/ , taken from Ann’s blog! She does very awesome flower corsages and bouquets; take a look!

Anyway, about a week ago, I sought for help in nail models for the exam day and lovely Ann volunteered to be mine, yay! As usual, I practiced on french and red nails that is required for the exam during a self-practice session last Thursday!

Sigh, my light pink polish is still so streaky!!! :(

Ann did something that made me squealed from my heart! She made me a personalised goodie bag from my blog banner and she filled it with lots of edible goodness! She is so kind and thoughtful, she was actually afraid that I might scold her for using my blog banner w/o my permission, silly!! :D

And then she said let’s pose with the bag then I do not have to watermark them, lol!!!

Ann also told me she wanted China Glaze For Audrey to be the french tip with a red base and initially I find it unmatching! After doing the entire manicure, I realised its a good combination! Ann has good taste! Also, she even brought her own gold glitter striper for me to use :)

Yet Another Self-Study: Paddle Pop Nails!

Had another self-study session on Tuesday with Vicky as my nail model!

Photobucket

Her nails are so beautiful!! Long nail bed and nails :) practiced polishing for my exam first; French and a red polish! French is still a disaster to me… should have made the tips thicker!

Afterwards, I removed it and did a brand new set of nail art for her! I forgot to bring alot of things yesterday so this nail art is lacking :(

Photobucket

My classmates says this set looks like lollipop/paddle pop! The base is China Glaze Shooting Stars, with OPI Shorts Story and OPI Alpine Snow for the lollipop colours! I then embellished it with crystals! I could have done better by lining the colours with a silver glitter liner but my resources are very limited in school :(

I’m so worried and nervous for my pedicure exam tomorrow, yikes! Hopefully I’m able to remember all the steps correctly and paint French well!

Vintage Wallpaper

I actually did Gelish for Huiyi but my UV lamp broke down after I did 2 coats for her nails so I had to remove everything for her and use a normal polish! I still feel so apologetic to her because she didn’t get what she originally wanted for CNY! :(

Photobucket

She spotted this old nail art wheel of mine and she wanted the floral art that I’ve done for many times with white stripes at the background. I used OPI Rumple’s Wiggin’ as the base colour with Relvon Red and China Glaze White Out for the flowers, OPI Jade Is The New Black for the leaves! Did the accent nails on her ring and thumb!

Gelish: Another Dotted Affair

Sally’s colleague, Siaw Hui wanted to do the same design as what I’ve done for Sally (my boyfriend’s mum) here. I did some minor changes but still kept the theme very closely with the inspired nails from Nail Max!

Photobucket

This time, I used Gelish Make A Difference and Gelish Take Action alternately with China Glaze White Out and OPI I’m An I-ndia Mood For Love for the roses! I really love the Gelish pinks from the breast awareness set!!! :)

Because of time constraint… I only did the dotted lines background on alternate nails. I think they look pretty good like that too! As she wanted them to last until CNY, I suggested not putting any crystals at all so that the manicure wouldn’t be ruined if the crystals did drop. However, she wanted crystals on her thumbs only! (you can’t really see it)

Gelish: Funky Mix

Again… Another backdated gelish on me!! I had to remove this when I went to my ONS I-Gel workshop on Sunday! (will blog in more details soon!)

Photobucket

This is a design inspired by Nail Bible!

Photobucket

I decided to mix floral and animal print this time and I love the result!! Haha, might seem like a mess but I actually love this ‘chaos’ hahaha! I think I’m still in the phrase of the half-nail thing hahaha I’ve been doing this for the past two manicures!! I used Artistic Colour Gloss With It, Gelish Seafoam and Gelish Desert Sands! The rest of the art is done using acrylic paint and China Glaze Tree Hugger! :)

Glitter Bomb Zebra Print Nail Design

Good afternoon, ladies and maybe some gentleman! ^^ Tonight’s my cousin’s wedding dinner and I thought I might do something funky with my nails!

This is the source of my inspiration, Nail Up! from the July issue! Look at the price on that set of nails, 9760 Yen!!!! That’s like close to SGD$158 just for this set. So overpriced! So today I am going to teach you how to do this set for so much less! :)

Photobucket

1. So the first step is to choose your glitters to work with! You don’t really have the follow the glitters I used, you can totally make it your own by using what you have. I’ve used Barry M Green Glitter, Barry M Blue Glitter, Barry M Red Glitter, OPI Excuse Moi!, Nubar Petunia Sparkles.

2. Decide on how you want your glitters to be placed, make sure that they’re kinda random and all over the place. Do 2 coats of them. I kinda left a tiny gap between my cuticle area and my nails, just like the inspiration picture.

3. After your glitters are dry, I put a coat of China Glaze Shooting Stars just to blend in the colours together. Add a top coat to make it smooth before the nail art.

4. Draw black stripes using a thin brush or a nail art striper.

5. Add rhinestones and a top coat and TA-DAH you’re done!

This is super shiny in real life!!!

Pink Gradient Nail Design

It’s the first day of school today and I woke up late, lol! I slept at nearly 5AM last night because I went to fetch my boyfriend from the airport and we did a lil catching up! I’m glad he’s back though, :D he bought for me an empress bookmark (he knows I love to read), purple sunglasses (he knows purple is my favourite colour), a cute mousepad that spells ‘Anniversary’, a pair of chopsticks bearing my Chinese surname and lastly, 3 fake OPI polishes!!!! hehe he’s so cute isn’t he? I will definitely swatch the fake OPI that I have since I’m curious on how they fare too!

Photobucket

I’ve been wearing this for 2 days and I’m still mesmerized by the gradient effect. I did 2 coats of OPI In The Spot-Light Pink, 1 coat of China Glaze Shooting Stars on top with China Glaze Pom-Pom as the highlight. I added lots of medium red hexagon glitter and did an accent nail on my left hand. I think that was a disaster because it looks kinda awkward cuz the diamond gem is too big.

This is the first time that I like my right hand better. Plain and simple! ;)

China Glaze Skyscraper

AH! Finally, a new post!!! Today’s my last day of working full-time at Milly’s since I’m starting school on Monday but I’ll still be there every Friday and Saturday! :D Tonight’s finally the night that I can pamper myself by doing a full manicure and also work on my selling post! :)

Photobucket

China Glaze Skyscraper is an indigo jelly with silver glitter. Very pretty but the removal part sucks big time though, I felt like my nails are about to break at the force I’m releasing. My nails are rather weak now after removing my gelish and two of my nails broke. Now my right hand is looking good but my left hand isn’t! (I wish it was the other way round cus I only take photo of my nails on my left!!)

Pink Floral Nail Design

Hey everyone, long time no talk, LOL.

Photobucket

This was done pretty long ago, about 2 weeks back when I went to interview at Milly’s! I was wondering why I didn’t post it up and I must have forgotten about this! My flowers smudged because I remember doing it in the wee hours of the morning before going to bed!

Quality of photos isn’t its best, I apologise :( anyway, I did gelish at my workplace today so check my twitter for pics of it :D I love it, it has lace and 3D flowers and its done by Tina! :D

So I can’t really post that much manis now since I’m doing gelish but I can ensure you by next week I’ll have something new on my nails! ^^ Its just that now I can’t polish my nails cause I’m serving customers everyday so normal polish gets ruined VERY QUICKLY! :/

School starts next week, OHMYGOD so fast!!!!! But the good thing is my boyfriend gets back from China this Sunday!!!!!!!! *___* :D
