Leopard Toes

Okay… this is my first time doing nail art on my toes!!!!! As usual, I did my favourite print: leopard! I caught this colour combination and design on Nail Venus Winter 2012 (LOL I know right… Japanese are incredibly fast!!) and I had to try it out! :D

I find it really awkward to do art on my toes because I can’t seem to draw on some parts that I can’t reach lol! :/ And I think this is my first time posting up pics of my toes too… LOL

Photobucket

I used Barry M Grey and OPI Isn’t It Precious? as the bases, OPI Glitzerland and pink acrylic paint ;) I added crystals at random places, hahahaha! I think I might need to do a full classic pedicure on myself soon.. I have lots of dead and dry skin!!! :(

Merry X’mas to all!!!! ^^

Glitter Bomb Zebra Print Nail Design

Good afternoon, ladies and maybe some gentleman! ^^ Tonight’s my cousin’s wedding dinner and I thought I might do something funky with my nails!

This is the source of my inspiration, Nail Up! from the July issue! Look at the price on that set of nails, 9760 Yen!!!! That’s like close to SGD$158 just for this set. So overpriced! So today I am going to teach you how to do this set for so much less! :)

Photobucket

1. So the first step is to choose your glitters to work with! You don’t really have the follow the glitters I used, you can totally make it your own by using what you have. I’ve used Barry M Green Glitter, Barry M Blue Glitter, Barry M Red Glitter, OPI Excuse Moi!, Nubar Petunia Sparkles.

2. Decide on how you want your glitters to be placed, make sure that they’re kinda random and all over the place. Do 2 coats of them. I kinda left a tiny gap between my cuticle area and my nails, just like the inspiration picture.

3. After your glitters are dry, I put a coat of China Glaze Shooting Stars just to blend in the colours together. Add a top coat to make it smooth before the nail art.

4. Draw black stripes using a thin brush or a nail art striper.

5. Add rhinestones and a top coat and TA-DAH you’re done!

This is super shiny in real life!!!

Two Toned Blue Leopard Print Design

Hey guys, sorry for missing in action for a few days! I was down with the flu and I didn’t feel like posting :/ I am also busy with schoolwork, mostly tutorials! Projects are on their way and I guess I’ll be real busy soon again!

Anyway, because I felt like I owe you readers some interesting read, I did my favourite nail art; leopard print! ^^

Photobucket

As usual, the names of the nail polishes are avaliable at the bottom of the post, at the tags section!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Anyway, I am opened for nail art requests!!! I won’t be able to do tutorials currently because of the time constraint but rest assured I will get down to doing them as soon as I have the time! :)

P.S. My 50 subscriber giveaway is ending this week!!!!! Do send in your entries by 5th November at 10PM local time! I will be giving away 9 polishes! :D

Barry M Bright Purple & OPI Divine Swine

It seems like it will take at least 2 more months before my nails on my left looks pretty decent. >:( I just chipped my pointer finger at the side and now it looks distorted :/

Anyway, my classmates and I took part in a captain ball competition organised by my school and we won!!!!!! We played 5 games with 5 other teams and we won every match! OMG HOW AWESOME ARE WE??? Hahahaha, I wasn’t expecting it though because all we wanted was to have fun! We won $250 worth of vouchers yayyyyy!!!

Photobucket

So my NOTD was something bright and in your face! I layered OPI Divine Swine over Barry M Bright Purple. I’d never ever put glitter on my bare nails unless it was very dense. And I can’t explain how much I love the OPI Muppets collection! I’m only expressing my love for the glitter side because the reds wasn’t that exciting.

OPI Divine Swine has large silver hexagon glitter with small purple glitter in a clear base. I like that the large hexagon glitter was a silver instead of a matching purple! Barry M Bright Purple was such a complement to that glitter! The colours matches so perfectly!

I actually zonked out when I reached home and slept for 4 hours straight! I never knew that playing 5 games of captain ball straight can tire me out so badly! It’s almost 1AM now and I have to get up at 7.30AM later for class. Looks like I won’t get anymore sleep tonight T-T

Barry M Yellow & Nubar Black Polka Dot

Don’t you just love the chilly weather right now in Singapore? I’m loving it!!!! It’s such a joy to wake up when it’s raining haha cause it’s so chilly and comfortable!

It’s back to work again today! :) the crowd usually come after 3-4PM so I’m currently slacking right now by uploading a post :P

Photobucket

Barry M Yellow is a sunshine yellow creme. Yellows are always a problematic bunch because they simply streaked and always gives bald spots. However, this one is an exception! 2 coats was all I need to cover the streaks and bald spots created on the first coat. The formula was thicker than usual though but very manageable.

The bad thing is this stained all my fingers :( :( I had to buff them to get all the icky yellow layer out!

I added a coat of Nubar Black Polka Dot to spice things up abit. This mani reminds me of the annoying song called ‘Black & Yellow’, LOLOL!

Thanks for dropping by ;) <3

Barry M Grey

Hello guys! Sorry for the uncalled absence :( I wasn’t in the mood to actually post any photos of my nails because they’re still not in good shape. Also, my camera decided to freak out the last few days and the colour wasn’t depicted correctly. I wouldn’t want to mislead anyone in my swatches just because of the colour error. Anyway, now I’m back with my usual nail swatches :) I hope you don’t mind my nibs on my nails though. And another bad thing about short nails is that I cannot wrap my tips with polish, the polish will flow on my skin and gets messy :/ so I apologise if you can see abit of my nail tip.

I don’t think I will continue doing my loot post from HK because the response wasn’t what I expected, sorry!

Photobucket

Barry M Grey is obviously a grey but a dark and warm one. I like this colour alot, this is great for Fall. Sorry for the lack of adjectives and words to describe this colour but holy crap, its gorgeous! You gotta own this one if you love greys!

Photobucket

I’d like to ask a favour from you guys. I can’t stand looking at my short nails so is there any product/treatment that I can use and purchase in Singapore to help in my nail growth? Thank you if you could help and let me know your opinion! :)

Barry M Mint Green

I satisfied my food craving with my boyfriend today :) We ate Kuay Chap for dinner, woohoo! The one at Bishan Street 24 has one of the best Kuay Chap around! For my foreign readers, ‘Kuay Chap is a Teochew (one of a few dialects in Singapore) dish of flat, broad rice sheets in a soup made with dark soy sauce, served with pig offal, braised duck meat, various kinds of beancurd, preserved salted vegetables, and braised hard-boiled eggs.’ I copied that description off Wikipedia because I’m not good at describing food, lol.

It looks like this:

LOOKS GOOD RIGHT???? :P

Photobucket

Today’s feature: Barry M Mint Green. Love the shade of green for this! I do own a couple of other minty greens and none of them are similar to this one! I actually thought of Essie Turquoise & Caicos as a close sister but T&C is leaning more to jade green while Mint Green has more yellowish-green tones in it. If there are any requests for comparisons, let me know :)

I did 2 coats and the formula is fantastic! I prefer Barry M’s formula compared to Essie because I didn’t have any streaks or bald spots on the first coat.

*P.S. I apologise on how rough my nail tips are… it wasn’t so obvious in real life. Lol, the camera just magnified everything by x100, haha!

Barry M Tangerine

The Sun is in its full glory today, yippee! Today was kinda calm and quiet, because I get to stay home all alone! Sometimes I like having moments like these, especially when I’m stressed out… oh and I watched Tom & Jerry cartoons a few hours ago and how I wish I was still a kid!! Good times, good times.

Today’s NOTD is yet another beautiful polish from Barry M! :) I am deeply in love with this brand. It has a wide array of colours and the formula and brush is fantastic. Not to mention those quirky, tiny bottles too! I’ve been getting lots of questions on where I get my Barry M and the definite answer is eBay! The seller name is beauty.cosmeticsuk

Photobucket

Barry M Tangerine is a bright orange with golden shimmer. I’ve read other reviews about Barry M and one of them claimed that Barry M’s polishes are always thin and needed 4 coats to be opaque. Not trying to be sarcastic here but… 4 coats?! That’s an exaggeration. I always do 2 coats for my Barry M’s and they never looked better. :>

I’m actually loving what I see here. In terms of the quality of these photos. I’m glad I switched to this digital cam! I apologise for the inconsistency for the photos before because I’ve not gotten the hang of taking swatch pics with that. And the pics of Models Own Becca’s Brown is a far cry from those photos seen here. I might have to retake that, haha!

When Classic Meets Techno Nail Design

Hey guys!!! So I dug my old digital camera out and finally decided to put it to good use! My family abandoned that camera years ago because we got a DSLR. Because I’m such a noob, I’m still not familiar with the functions and this is the main reason why I’ve not used it for any of my nail swatches yet. The digital camera that I’ll be using from today onwards will be Panasonic DMC-FX10. It’s actually a really old model and it has only about 7 megapixels (I think). At least that is better than my current iPhone 4 that I’ve been using from the start to take pics of my nails. Amazing, isn’t it?

Anyway, let me know if this camera has an improvement to my swatches because if not, I will switch back to using my iPhone 4, lol. I like this digital camera much better because it can zoom in w/o making my pics blurry. But, it doesn’t really have that ‘bright’ factor that I always have in my swatches.

Okay…. back to nails. You should have noticed the weird title of this nail design and yes, I AM NOT THAT CREATIVE in naming all my nail designs :P It gets harder and harder after every nail art post, trust me! I am inspired by ClaraH and here’s my rendition of it. :) I’m definitely going to redo this and this time without the accent glitter nails. Also, I think the leaves of my roses are so awkward!! I should have drawn a pair for a rose.

Photobucket

I am using Dior Blue Label as a base for my accent nails, topped with Barry M Blue Glitter. OMG… Barry M Blue Glitter is so densely packed, it is more of a turquoise fine glitter in a clear base! I did a blue base underneath because I thought most glitter will be sparse and randomly spread out but this one is such a beautiful exception. LOVE! <3

The base colour on my other nails is Barry M Strawberry Ice-cream, I apologise for the colour difference because no matter how I photograph it, the colour doesn’t show up! :/ It is actually a bubblegum pink.

Roses are drawn with acrylic paint. Other colours used will be listed under the tags section.

Daisies Nail Design

It was raining this morning and I couldn’t snap pics outside :( But it was great going school on a rainy day because there’s an excuse to be late :D LOL!

I missed last week’s Pink Wednesday because I got caught up in schoolwork and didn’t change my mani! So here’s a fun pink to make up for it! Today’s inspiration design was from Rina! Her nail art is gorgeous!!! My daisies didn’t turn out as well as hers… mine was too pointed, haha! But it was a good try for me! The flowers are all done with acrylic paint.

Photobucket

Barry M Fuchsia is a lovely shade of dark red-tone pink creme (it’s actually much darker than it is pictured here). The formula was top-notch, very smooth and pigmented and can be a one-coater if you put it on thick.

I added sparkly 2.4mm korean rhinestones on my ring finger which I got from eBay for about USD2.44. It actually arrived last night and I was so excited to use it that I just slapped it on my mani, lol. Its cheap but yet retains the shine after topcoat. I used to buy those 1800 rhinestones in nail wheels from eBay and those are about 1.5mm and they’re shiny but after putting on a topcoat… they completely lose their shine. Its feels like the topcoat clogged up near the rhinestones and blocking out the light from hitting it. These new rhinestones that I have on are incredible! They are still sparkly and shiny even after a thick topcoat, which I am so thankful for! ;)
