I like to call this… a confetti party! Yay!!!! I popped by Forever21 earlier this week and managed to see this multi-coloured glitter at the cashier counter when I was checking out my stuff. The only multi-coloured glitter that I own that is similar to this is actually Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday. I’ve used that many times and I’m kinda worried that I might use the whole bottle up! So I bought this as a great alternative, hehe! From what I saw, this one seems to be the last one on the counter. Maybe you can check out other Forever21 besides the one at 313! They also seem to have really good high-waisted shorts this Fall which is my utmost favourite, yippee!
I layered over OPI Parlez-vous OPI? and I think I might try it over a white base next So this colourful baby is called Multi. LOL, awkward name but I shall stick with this since the name was printed on the price label. This has dark & light blue, turquoise, red, silver, gold hexagon glitters with lots of small glitters from the same colour family in a clear base. Very different from Happy Birthday but still gorgeous on its own.
I find that I had to dig out the hexagon glitters so remember to shake before use because the larger glitters tend to sink to the bottom of the bottle!
Opps, sorry for not posting yesterday! Haha I was so tired when I got home that I immediately showered and lay on my bed! I’ve been reading a novel for the past two days and I finished reading it on my way home from work! You guys should go get Nicholas Sparks ‘Safe Haven’, its good!
Today I had 4 customers and I did a black French tip AGAIN. What’s up with the trend now? Is black tips considered sexy? LOL, kidding!!
Love Is A Racket is an coral red with red/iridescent flakies, jammed packed with pink and purple shimmers! It’s gorgeous because it is incredibly shiny and sparkly! It dries matte which is kinda odd and it doesn’t feel gritty even though it looks like it is. Absolutely smooth after a top coat!
Hello guys! Wow I just got home from work and I have to say that it’s kinda tiring but yet satisfying. I served 3 customers today doing express manicure with one with black french tips. I think I might have took 30 mins doing the french tips because it was so hard! It got pretty messy too, since it was black and I took quite awhile in making her skin clean and black-free, lol! Also, I think I might get gelish from Kim again because my natural nails are really weak and I can’t really polish my nails because work requires me to clean the edges of the customers’ nails if I mess up. Anyway, come visit me at Milly’s at Bugis level 2!
So this is an impromptu post, I was just playing around with the China Glaze crackle and I love this combo! I layered China Glaze Haute Metal over OPI Dating A Royal! I love how the bright blue pops out from the pale metallic pink
Okay… I have an announcement to make!!!! I’ll be starting work tomorrow as a permanent part-time manicurist for Milly’s! How exciting is that? I get free training (obviously), learn how to do a professional manicure/pedicure (and maybe more skills if I learn fast enough) and be with hundreds of bottles of polishes, yay!! So starting from tomorrow, nail posts will probably be scheduled before 12pm or after 11pm
I went down for an interview today and I got hired on the spot I love bosses that are so fast in their decision-making, haha! My portfolio was the link to this blog <3 <3 Oh, and a good thing is that I can wear whatever that is comfortable to work!
Chanel Graphite is a silver metallic foil with bits and pieces of gold shimmer scattered all around. This is incredibly shiny and eye-catching! And it does look like an actual Graphite, hurray! Finally a polish that does justice to its name
Wow, my nails are really short and round here, I filed down my nails and now they’re looking much more square
Thank you, each and everyone of you for your comments/opinions and asking for comparisons!
You can get these Michelle Nail Colors from Beadstreet at Cineleisure, 2nd floor! These are 2 for $4. I’m actually very tempted to go back there and get more colours because the quality is really good. They’re so worth your money! Compared to other brands such as The Face Shop, TFS is a rip-off for their polishes. Its slightly more expensive and yet the quality suck. The polish gets gooey when I used it the first time and it ended up clogging the bottle neck, argh! Note to self: Never ever buy TFS polishes, no matter how cheap it is or what promotion they have.
Anyway, they actually use codes to name their polishes so it might get a little confusing!
T72 is a metallic mustard-green foil, kinda like a cousin to Chanel Peridot. 2 coats here. So if you’re looking for an alternative to that, I think this is a great choice! I didn’t say this is a dupe for Peridot
Q14 is a cherry red with golden shimmer. I LOVE THIS ONE!!!!! Looks perfect on my skintone! I did two coats here even though I could get away with one, it’s so opaque!!
M32 is what I used for my Scallop Hem Nail Design a few posts back. It’s a periwinkle blue creme. I did 2 coats here.
B24 is like a cross between a neon and a pastel. It’s pretty bright on my nail but it doesn’t dry matte. It’s much more darker than pictured, something like a tangerine.
B55 is an absolute nude colour, no tones on pinks or peaches; just plain nude. Very mannequin nails and very work appropriate! I like that it doesn’t really blend into my skin tone and it kinda stands out on its own
M33 is a dark teal creme, very flattering for Fall. I’ve already worn this as a full mani twice so I absolutely love this colour!!
There are absolutely NO STREAKS at all for any of the polishes that I’ve featured here. Such a great bonus, especially when these polishes are made in Singapore. I find it pretty hard to believe that finally a manufacturer in Singapore does nail polish the good quality way. That’s a great method to reap in loyal customers because they definitely sucked me in already. And some of the polishes are opaque in one coat. I love their brushes too, not too big like the OPI one and not too narrow like China Glaze. It’s somewhere in the middle and the brushes spread really wide and covers a good amount of area on the nail!
So which colour did you like best among those that I’ve picked up? Let me know! <3
Good afternoon! Decided to do a bit of experimenting with Nubar Black Polka Dot today I actually tried many combinations when my nails were pretty short and I love it best with bright/pastel colours!! I really recommend this polish if you love layering and glitter!
In this mani, I layered Nubar Black Polka Dot over Essie Pansy. I love how the hot pink is toned down after adding a layer of black glitter. Nubar Black Polka Dot is a tinted sheer black base with large hexagon glitter with small black glitter. These glitter isn’t reflective so I think it’d be a great idea to layer it over shimmers too!
Yep I only did one coat of BPD over and it looks like I got quite an even number of glitters on all my nails! The best thing about this tinted polish is that you can add more layers, depending on how many glitters you want, without making the polish look too thick!
I’ll be posting up Michelle Nail Color swatches from Beadstreet either tonight or tomorrow morning! Keep a lookout!
I got anonymously requested to do a layered mani slapping on Last Friday Night over Ink. I’d prefer if this particular reader step out and tell me your name please? Basic courtesy, that’s all! Hope you like my swatches!
Honestly I wasn’t over the moon to do this request because I thought the layering will come out pretty nasty. But I really like the results of this layering! Great idea, anonymous reader!
Here’s OPI Ink on its own! I did 3 coats for this because my bottle is kinda wonky and was pretty diluted. It’s a purple shimmer with pink, red and dark blue specks of glitter in it, its gorgeous!
Now wait till you see how good OPI Last Friday looks over OPI Ink!!! *AMAZED* It totally looks like a galaxy of some sort, so cool! And the best part is that the glitter is smooth when it was dried, yay! No gritty texture and it doesn’t really eats up topcoat that way.
I included extra photos for our viewing pleasure, hahaha! Pretty photos must share, especially swatches of polishes!
Hello guys!!! Omg I caught Johnny English today with my friends and it was so hilarious!!!!!! Especially when I have a cousin that looks just like Rowan Atkinson! I kid you not, really! So I was actually imagining those scenes in the movie as if my cousin was doing that, lol. Okay, I know I’m weird and not funny lol.
So today I have a nail design for you that was inspired by: Robinmosesnailart in Youtube!
I like her videos ALOT! She’s so cheerful and funny and she’s always laughing with her clients or herself in her videos! I did my own spin on that design so I hope you like it!
Anyone curious about that beautiful periwinkle shade that I used for my half french? That one is a new line by Beadstreet in Singapore called Michelle Nail Colour and its name is M32. I wish they did name their polishes, because their colours are really lovely! I got these at Cineleisure its 2 for $4! (I own 6 of them and I love love love them! Will feature each of them next week!)
The formula was really good! I had no streaking whatsoever and it was fully opaque in one coat! MARVELOUS! I am surprised, considering that this is a Singapore brand of nail polish. This definitely did not disappoint! Absolutely much better than The Face Shop in terms of quality and affordability. I think I’m going back to purchase more
Even though I am not loving the cheap silver nail caps, I do recommend this if you’re looking for affordable and yet quality nail polishes. I like nail polishes from Elianto too!
Hello guys!! Its been ages since I’ve done a collection swatches and review so I’m glad to do one for Jesse’s Girl! This is indeed a new brand to me and I ordered this collection online as soon as it was available on their website. There’s a big discount for buying the entire collection so I went with that. (USD$25) Shipping was quite fast, I received these in about a week or so.
If you’re unfamiliar with this collection, this was created by JulieG, a beauty guru on Youtube! She has created her own nail polish collection and I think its a pretty good one because there’s something for everyone! I’ve been watching her videos from the start, she’s very cheerful and informative and that’s what I look for when I watch beauty-related videos! You need to check her out if you haven’t!
This is her video introducing all her nail polishes if you are interested in knowing more!
All swatches are 2 coats with no top coat. I wished she did more shimmers though because they’re super gorgeous. This collection consists of 2 shimmers and 6 cremes.
Beauty Guru is a dark musky orange and it looks like a baked orange to me! (Not that I’ve eaten or seen one!) I like this one, the oranges I own are mostly brights or neon and its kinda interesting to see a musky one.
Fashion Friday is an gorgeous red-toned purple, very flattering! Its the colour of JulieG’s background when she makes videos when she’s sitting down and doing one of her makeup videos! I believe this is quite an exact match and I like it!
All Things Girly is a red-toned peach. This isn’t one of my top picks for this collection at all because it doesn’t look good against my skin and the formula was horrible! It was streaky and really thick! I guess I had to bring out my Seche Restore if I’m using it next time.
Stiletto is a light taupe with subtle silver shimmer. It kinda looks something in between purple and grey. A very office appropriate colour and a very unique one at that! I’ve never seen anything like this colour and I’m glad I own this one now!
Cupcake Frosting is a hot fuchsia, nothing very special actually so I’m gonna just keep this description short and sweet, haha!
Party Dress is a red-toned coral, very beautiful and flattering on my skintone. Love this!! I actually have this as my pedi right now and I love the great pop of colour.
Girls Night Out is a medium cobalt blue, very striking and much darker than pictured. Again, not a very unique polish but I’m surprised that this wasn’t an exact dupe of Barry M Cobalt Blue! I might do a comparison if you guys request :>
Mermaid’s Lagoon is a dark teal with subtle golden-red shimmer. Its more like a sprinkle of fairy dust of some sort in the polish, the shimmer is really pretty and dazzling! My camera kinda freaked out on this colour but I swear this colour is super gorgeous in real life! It is much more greener than pictured, not as turquoise as what the photo depicts.
As a whole, I had no issues with the formula except for All Things Girly. Their brushes are kinda unique, they’re thin, small and short so it kinda makes me go back to the bottle twice for each nail on average to have enough polish for my entire nail!
Well, so what’s your favourite from this collection? My favourites have to be Mermaid’s Lagoon, Fashion Friday and Stiletto! Any requests for comparison, please let me know
Hello everyone! So I was clearing out and packing my Helmer last night and I chanced upon these fake nails that I’ve yet to use. I bought these months ago on sg_beauty community on Livejournal. I think I got these for $5. I don’t think these are available in Singapore unless you order from Drugstore(?), I’m not so sure either sorry!
Mine isn’t this set, I was just showing you guys how the set looks like. My actual set french tips was much more bigger and the nails tips are wider.
This set includes 24 fake nails in 12 sizes and it includes a mini plastic cuticle pusher, a mini filer and a pink gel glue. Because I neglected this set in my Helmer, the gel glue was dried up when I tried to use it so I replaced it with a normal nail glue which I got from PNC Traders.
Anyway, let’s do a quick jump to my review now!
Pros:
Very affordable. (Well, at the price I got them for; not the retail price!)
These are very easy to use and the instructions on the back of the box was very clear, I like that they included a mini cuticle pusher and a filer.
I like how they did something out of the norm, which is to do a classic french tip design; unlike other brands that comes up with too much dazzling and complicated designs for all 10 fingers.
Since I was using a different glue, I was able to peel them off without soaking my hands in pure acetone. (I believe that is a waste of nail polish remover and it’s harmful to my hands too!)
Cons:
It came off pretty easily. I was packing my closet too last night and all I did was to hang up clothes and fold them and the nail on my thumb came off. Maybe it was because I didn’t use the gel glue that was provided.
The nail tips were too wide and big for my nails. When I found the perfect size for my cuticle area, my nails were too long for the french tips to cover so I had to use a wider and bigger french tip to cover my entire nail, which made it look pretty fake. I had to paste the nail further out from my cuticle so that it entirely covers my natural nails.
The glue that I used was actually visible under the fake nails which made it look kinda cheap. Well, maybe applying a sheer pink polish underneath might solve this problem.
Alright, that’s all for my review! I hope this was helpful!
