Milani Hi-Tech

I just got home from pasam malam (which means night market in Malay) and I got myself a nude/beige bag! It was big enough for my school stuff so yay! I ate so much there just now too… Lol!

Sigh…. as much as I love holographic polishes, I can never photograph them properly! :( I took a bunch of photos indoors and outdoors and only these turned out fine but it still doesn’t accurately show the exact colour!! *frustrated* For more accurate swatches of these, I suggest Scrangie! My camera failed me :(

Photobucket

Milani Hi-Tech is a gorgeous lime green scattered holo. It doesn’t have a strong holo effect like OPI DS Original, but its still pretty! It dried like 2 shades darker than the bottle which was odd. It might have been due to the 3 thin coats that I did!

Photobucket

Oh wow I just love how the flash photo turned out but… it still isn’t the exact colour! :(

I find that this post is meaningless. LOL.

Daisies Nail Design

It was raining this morning and I couldn’t snap pics outside :( But it was great going school on a rainy day because there’s an excuse to be late :D LOL!

I missed last week’s Pink Wednesday because I got caught up in schoolwork and didn’t change my mani! So here’s a fun pink to make up for it! Today’s inspiration design was from Rina! Her nail art is gorgeous!!! My daisies didn’t turn out as well as hers… mine was too pointed, haha! But it was a good try for me! The flowers are all done with acrylic paint.

Photobucket

Barry M Fuchsia is a lovely shade of dark red-tone pink creme (it’s actually much darker than it is pictured here). The formula was top-notch, very smooth and pigmented and can be a one-coater if you put it on thick.

I added sparkly 2.4mm korean rhinestones on my ring finger which I got from eBay for about USD2.44. It actually arrived last night and I was so excited to use it that I just slapped it on my mani, lol. Its cheap but yet retains the shine after topcoat. I used to buy those 1800 rhinestones in nail wheels from eBay and those are about 1.5mm and they’re shiny but after putting on a topcoat… they completely lose their shine. Its feels like the topcoat clogged up near the rhinestones and blocking out the light from hitting it. These new rhinestones that I have on are incredible! They are still sparkly and shiny even after a thick topcoat, which I am so thankful for! ;)

Goodnight! (:

A Touch Of Bling!!

It’s a lovely day today… because it’s the 26th <3 Happy 11th month anniversary to my boyfriend ;) He has always stuck with me on my nail polish ventures, especially when I go to fleas to buy polishes and he stands around and picking up polishes and asking me what colour it is hahahaha and he was also absolutely fascinated about the shatter polishes! He always tells me which colour looks good on me and most of the time he was absolutely right. Hehe he’s like my nail buddy because whenever I have a new colour on… I take a photo of it and whatsapp him ;)

Anyway, I love wearing darker shades when my nails are short so here’s another dark colour that I want to show you ;) OPI Light My Sapphire has been sitting on my untried list for a very very long time and I’m glad I’ve finally used it.

Photobucket

OPI Light My Sapphire is a vampy dark blue with very fine silver microshimmer. It’s kinda like a half-frost and half-shimmer dark blue, because it looks frosty on my nail but yet it does have shimmer in it. I added 2 coats of China Glaze Medallion as an accent nail and it looks pretty good to me! Love how the gold complements the dark blue!!

Photobucket

My Seche Vite topcoat is bubbling up on this mani if you look closely… I think I might wanna change my topcoat to Poshe once I’m done using it. I’m kinda freaked out on the SV fact on pregnant ladies… eeek! I wouldn’t want that to happen to me in the future. >:(

Essie Splash Of Grenadine + Nubar 2010

I have an important test tomorrow so I’m gonna keep this short and sweet :) I cut/filed down my nails to the same length because it’s so weird seeing them a different length lol!

Photobucket

Essie Splash Of Grenadine is a muted, dusty pink with a touch of purple. It’s neither a pink or a purple, it’s somewhere in between. I find that I don’t really like this on me, I prefer looking at it from the bottle. The formula is very very streaky, I had bald spots at almost every nail! It was thick as well so it definitely takes time for each coat to dry before putting on the next one!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Also… because of some bald spots that I couldn’t save, I layered Nubar 2010 over as a cover up! I love it when glitter/flaky polishes come to the rescue! I have a mini dent at my pointer and I doubt you can see it :P I probably should get a backup for Nubar 2010… It’s lovely! I’ve not layered over darker colours yet so I’d definitely be giving that a try soon!

Photobucket

Goodnight everyone! I’m getting a little bit sleepy but I’m gonna persevere and continue revising until I drop-dead on my table, lol!

Models Own Baby Blues

Good evening! I’m about to head out for dinner soon so a short post for today! ;)

Photobucket

Models Own Baby Blues is a sky blue creme. Looks kinda similar with OPI What’s With The Cattitude so I will post a comparison soon! I did 2 coats here and it dried a tinge darker from the bottle. My fingers and cuticles are getting kinda dry in these photos but it honestly isn’t that bad haha, stupid camera lol! (I apologise for the awkward dot on my middle finger lol, stupid pen!) I don’t know what’s wrong lately but it chipped on my pointer finger in less than 12 hours! :(

Oh I forgot to explain about my stubby short pointer finger. As usual, my nail broke last week and I managed to prevent it from splitting off by applying a layer of nail glue before adding on base coat and colour. I guess it’s only temporary because my nail couldn’t take it anymore and broke entirely 2 days ago. :( I’m not sure whether I should cut/file down my other nails too because I really like the current length of these!

Essie Fair Game

Hello! Sorry for the late postings these days, I’ve been busy with school work! Anyway I have exciting news to share! The Halloween Horrors team contacted me and said I was shortlisted from my auditions! (WOOHOOOO!!!) so I need to attend a briefing tomorrow and a training camp next weekend in order to be on the scare actors team! I’m already looking forward for this year’s Halloween :D

They actually sent me an email saying I was not selected the day before and I was feeling kinda bummed out. They apologized for the error the day after and voila… I’m IN!!!! :D

Lol ok sorry for the long intro, I get too hyped up at times! :P

Photobucket

Essie Fair Game is a frosty gunmetal blue-grey with silver shimmer. Frost polishes are my least favorite but I don’t know why I bought this but I’m loving it! The brush strokes wasn’t that visible on the nail which I’m really surprised at because frosty polishes always have this poison factor that most of us dislike.

Anyway I really like the colour of this one and how it looks on me! I did 2 coats here and application was a breeze. But exactly 12 hours later, I had an enormous chip at my thumb and subsequently on my ring finger as well. I guess Essie doesn’t last a day on me :/ how I wish the formula was as good as the colour!

I need to go finish up my tutorials now because I need to study for an important test this coming Tuesday! ;) Goodnight!

Tribal Nail Design

Hello everyone! So today I’ve got a nail design to show you ;) it isn’t that complicated like it looks though, and this design won me lots of compliments throughout the day! One of my tutor wanted to take a pic of my nails and show it to her daughter because her daughter was interested in nails as well. (I didn’t let her take a photo of my nails afterall because I was so embarrassed!) Haha!

As usual, I’m not the original creator of this design! I followed this tutorial from cutepolish@Youtube!

Subscribe to her if you haven’t! I always love her simple and beautiful designs! :D

Photobucket

The base colour that I’m using is OPI Play The Peonies. I’ll talk about this shade more in upcoming entries! The rest, I used my striper polishes from Color Club and Art Deco so nothing special there! Except that for the dots, I used OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees.

I like how each nail is a different design that I spun off from the top of my head! (except my pointer finger of cause! I copied the exact design from the tutorial) I don’t really like how it turned out at first because it looks pretty neat from far but when I zoomed in… all I can see was messy slanted lines and irregular dots :/

I’ve been sourcing for goodies for my giveaway and I’m excited!!!!!! :) hopefully I can reach 50 subscribers fast so that I can release the details soon! <3

OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You V.S. China Glaze 108 Degrees

Hi everyone! So Liz commented on my previous post saying that China Glaze 108 Degrees was a perfect dupe for OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You and I had to compare them! It didn’t cross my mind that 108 Degrees was so similar to Be A Dahlia Won’t You when I was wearing it!

Photobucket

Spot the difference??
.
.
.
.
.

I bet you can’t because I got mixed up too while labeling the polishes. Geez, they look really similar!!!! I did 2 coats here.

Photobucket

TA…DAHHHH!

Both are equally bright and sparkly and the pink was spot-on! Looks like we have dupes!!! But I kinda like OPI better, because of the formula. Its easier to work with than China Glaze because CG’s formula is too thick. I don’t think you really need the other if you’ve already own one of them. :)

Hope this post helps! ^^

OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You

Hello everyone! Sorry for not posting yesterday… I did have a swatch photo but it turned out slanted so I didn’t want to post it up because it looks horrible :X Btw, I went for a picnic with my dear friends on Sunday and it was so tiring! We lugged all our food there and cycled the bumpy slopes. Seriously hate the up slope… LOL everyone gave up halfway and ended up pushing our bikes up, haha!

Today’s NOTD is OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You. I’ve been getting lots of questions on my latest OPI flea and I’m going to reinforce my points again. It isn’t MY flea, I’m actually working for my diving instructor part-time :) But I get to purchase the OPIs at a lower price so I picked up the whole Nice Stems Collection :D

Photobucket

OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You is a bright pink shimmer, almost like a foil! I love this one… its so bright and sparkly! The formula was a little thick on this one but still manageable, I did 2 coats for this baby! Haha and there’s random drops of water on my nails because I just washed my hands lol.

Another Leopard & Zebra Design…

Hi all!! So tonight’s my last night of selling OPI at Clarke Quay so come on down alright? It’s near the pub area! Cross the bridge and walk straight! I’m near ‘Clinic’! It’s weird to see that pub with hospital beds and wheel chairs but I like their concept!! Their waitresses are in nurses uniform too I think, which might juz give the wrong sexual idea… LOL

Anyway, here’s our booth! It isn’t a full view of our booth cus there was some obstruction! Also, we have the full collection of Nice Stems!!! (spot the display set at a corner) $10 for Assorted OPI colours, $28 for sets and $14 for Nice Stems!
Photobucket

We had quite a good response so it’s awesome! And lots of people complimented on my floral nails too :D <3 so for today's mani… I decided to do my signature leopard/zebra print in contrasting colours!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I used OPI Glitzerland and CND Just Red for the bases :) there’s nothing much to say about this mani because I always alternate the base colours hahaha!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Haha this photo was taken by my brother! Finally, a nice shot of both my hands!!!! Lol.

Photobucket

I am starting work soon! See you :)
